Church Mouse (a Haiku)

Hello dear readers and followers, today I am presenting another Haiku … I seem to be on a roll for writing Haiku lately … and I have no rhyme or reason as to why this is so … but I do enjoy the challenge of their concise format …

Church Mouse (a Haiku)

I hear church bells ring

Did an elder church mouse die

Grey clouds always cry

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. You are still the King of Haiku, Ivor! You can pack so much truth and importance…and evoke so much emotion…in your little 3 line 5/7/5 syllables-count poems! πŸ™‚

  2. This chimes like a tolling church bell! I haven’t written any haiku for ages…

    Can’t think why that is
    Maybe it’s because I can’t
    Write a short sentence.

Or is that a senryu? 😝
