My nostalgic poem today is a piece I wrote in May 2018

In My Time

In my time

trees I did climb

played hide and seek

always had a peak

went to the park

’til after dark

built my own fort

enjoyed my sport

daydreamt in class

smart enough to pass

nicked my brothers shoes

teased my sister too

life was a pantomime

In my time

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

      1. We cannot alter life’s destiny, but if you are able to receive a good start in life, then you might have the right attributes to handle the inevitable fallen trees that are blown across your path …

  1. I wish for the children of today at least some of the freedom we had…freedom to wander woods and fields, catch tadpoles in the creek., look for pictures in the clouds…Many of today’s children lead very programmed lives. I love your nostalgic poem, Ivor! ❤
