I’m thrilled to announce that a second poem of mine “New Mushrooms” was also selected by the Red Wolf Journal for their up-coming 2022 Spring Edition Anthology, a sincere thank you to the editor Irene for accepting my poem.
After the storm
Old boundaries were transformed
Fences were moved and torn
Fields smelled of rotting corn
Patient vultures remained airborne
Above the drowning longhorn’s
After the storm
I rested under the peppercorn
And I saw new mushrooms rise with the dawn

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Thank you Ingrid .. nature’s ancient renewable food source … and that’s my message ..after she has finished with us humans she’ll turn us into fungi for the next new batch of obnoxious creatures to eat … and so the cycle shall go, on and on !!
