G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Lovely to be surrounded by so many memories and so much love
Writing can actually be a lot of fun when one realises just like this how amazing they are sorounded by gifts from the past, gifts or relicts that assure us of love even from our departed kins. Amazing, Ivor.
Ivor — you are so good. Really. You take the simplest things and make music out of them. It is a talent so few of us have. I enjoy discovering your life through your poetry. Am glad you are my friend.
Oh Claudia … you honour me with your wondrous comments … I suppose the simple things are the essence of my universe …. I think the little things in life are the more important pieces that make up who we are … and I’m not afraid write about my small personal emotions … that most peole keep hidden and tucked away, because they think those thoughts are not important, … but if you feel the moment, write about that moment … in every second there is a moment, with every moment there is a heartbeat, .. so I figure every tiny moment is there to be observed and written about … I think Emily Dickinson’s poems have influenced me greatly ..
Oh, how wonderful, Ivor! The perfect place for you to be over the holiday! YAY! To be surrounded by treasures (Dad’s desk, Carole’s painting, sweet colorful friends, etc.) and blanketed in treasured memories! 🙂
