An Old Plumber, An Ex-Carer, An Amateur Poet, Words From The Heart
Another Year Out Of Tune
The Weekly Prompts Colour Challenge is: A New Dawn. and may visit their fabulous by clicking on >> Here and my attached ‘golden poem’ is in response to the prompt
G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

That’s just an amazing piece, a beautiful reminder about last year’s hectic moments.
Thank you Felix and indeed it was another unusual and hectic year .. which as I awake to the 2nd day of this new year .. the cloudiness for 2022 is still hovering low and gray
Love the honesty, Ivor! We are at war on so many fronts: racism, violence, covid, pollution, global warming, floods, fires, and massive storms. There are conflicts among nations and between political factions. Truth is under attack on a massive scale, and people don’t know what to believe. The song, “Blowin’ in the Wind,” one of my favorites, is so well chosen for this post!
It is helpful to appreciate the heroes of our time and all the good things in life. It is essential to have hope for the future, but it is not so good to hide our heads in the sand! May 2022 be a better year! π
Thank you Cheryl for your thoughtful card comprehensive comment β¦ and yes these are tough and yet fragile times β¦ we seem to be lingering on a knife edge β¦ but hopefully the situation will improve during our time here β¦may all the ancient Gods unite and guide us into a sunlit future ..
You’ve captured the past two years…and all of our feels we felt as we lived it. Ivor, your writing and Hozier singing…always perfection to me!
(((HUGS))) π
