Winter Snails (a Haiku)

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

What superb snail photos! The close-up details are great! YAY for Derrick! 🙂
Snails are fascinating to watch. I love the slow silvery shimmery trail they leave behind them 🙂
🐌 🐌 🐌 They are like, “Yep, that’s where I’ve been! Yep, I’m moving forward!” 😀 😉
And yay for autumn leaves and winter sun!

Thank you Carolyn … I love how snails 🐌 are always home for dinner on time .. no matter where their journey takes them 🦦😊🌏 … and the wonderful Derrick went back “decades” of his files to find the photos for me .. So my post here is one to treasure and I’ll be framing the article to hang up in my verandah gallery 🐌🖼💕🌏🤗
We never saw snails here until we renovated the house and part of the garden, I swear they were brought here with new soil or turf etc. Derrick’s images are as usual just brilliant, but I don’t like snails.

I thought snails 🐌 just were out in the summers.

That’s why they carry their houses around with them. In case of any changes in the weather. 😉

I live snails 🐌 until they start eating my my veggie patches

It’s those trails I don’t like. Though I probably squirm at anything that crawls along the ground!
