G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Exhaustion can be a wicked beast. It can also be a sign of living to the fullest. Not recovering from it is the hardest.
This poem says it so well, Ivor.! I tire a lot more easily these days! It’s hard to remember sometimes that I can’t push as hard as I used to! β€ Hang out with Frankie, and I bet you'll feel frisky again! β€ β€ β€
Yes .. I suppose so Ingrid .. I do have lots of commitment through my various groups that I am involved with .. I enjoy the challenge and it definitely keeps me busy .. but then again I am 70 and maybe I just have to have more breaks .. π€πππ
AW. I hope you and Sir Frankie can get some good rest! Be good to yourselves and each other!
We can all relate to the tiredness you’ve expressed…emotionally, mentally and physically. And those 3 affect each other when we are weary.
Your words are woven so heart-touchingly and with such emotion. Your poem and the song combo brought on some tears. (Pass the tissues, please. π )
(((HUGS))) and Hang in there, DearFriend!!! π
PS…a day without rest is like cake without icing! π π π
Haha .. tissues are in short supply again .. .. get the clean hankies out again .. and Enyaβs songs are so powerful too .. hopefully me and Frankie will get a good rest tonight πππΆπΌπ΄

Age demands more respect! Rest and due consideration should be given to us oldies. Lovely poem Ivor.

Strangely I seem to need less sleep than ever before – but of course can do far less to tire me π
