G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

(Friendly proof-reader query: Since your L1 ‘winds’ is plural, shouldn’t your final line use ‘depart’ instead of ‘departs’. as in ” The harsh Baltic winds [do all this damage] then depart as Russian thieves”?
So sad, Ivor! Very cold winds are blowing. Ukrainians trying to escape by walking across borders, trapped in basements, not enough to eat, no power and water…Poorly provisioned Russian soldiers trapped in a war they didn’t sign up for, fighting halfheartedly against their neighbors. All because of one man and his evil regime!
Thank you Cheryl .. and you’ve summed up my sentiments perfectly .. but here I am laying in bed a million miles away from the devastation snug as bug wishing there was more I could do…

We have Ukrainian next-door neighbors. a very nice family with young children at home. She has her relatives still in Ukraine. Many Ukrainians and Russians live in our area.
