G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

So sad, Ivor, especially with the clown imagery reminding me of children who should be enjoying their childhood…
Thank you Ingrid … far too sad .. here down in Geelong the sadness etches an extra frown in my soul each day .. it’s 3.00am .. and I wake with tears in my eyes 🥲☮️🌏
When I taught in DC many years ago, students were terrorized by a “clown” as they walked to and from school. They started walking in groups for protection. Many nations are standing together now against a very bad clown, I hope they run him out of town.
So sad and so horrifying…especially for the children, the future. 😦 Such a powerful important poem and post, Ivor! Thank you for writing it and sharing it. I think it’s one of your bestest!
That song always makes me cry. Such an important song.
Too many bad clowns out there in the world. 😦
(((HUGS)))
PS…grateful for good, safe, fun, kind clowns who just want to make people smile.
yes .. I must apologise to all the goodie clowns … and the was a brand new version put on YouTube yesterday .. i was lucky to find it .. Thank you Carolyn for thoughtful comments … Here is a Nick Cave song for you .. 🤗🐶💛☮☮
Yes they are Dwight … but sadly this war is a horrendous error by Putin, but has he the “courage” to admit his mistake… and stop the war he started .. ☮🌏
The tragedy of war, that only we, ordinary people in the warring nations know and feel, with our leaders, still high up, inside their, ivory towers, ignoring our, cries, down, below…

A great metaphor for the nightmare going on in Ukraine. There are many courageous people who are not backing down to the bully.

I agree with, Derrick, clowns can be fearsome creatures, and unfortunately, there are many bad clowns in the world. 💙
