Tiredness Leaves Me Wordless

Today’s poem is from August 2018, and the words reflect how I’m feeling this week

Tiredness Leaves Me Wordless

I’m wordless at the moment

My thoughts are in postponement

I hear Leonard’s songs

All night long

Lyrics full of love

Day lilies and doves

Today I hold her empty glove

My one truelove

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  2. Remember that song Ivor, “You say it best when you say nothing at all” Of course this is not a reference to every other poem you write, in case you thought different in reading. It just seemed to fit this poem. Better stop digging before the hole gets too deep…

      1. And last nights poem that I finished this morning, I wrote during the night when I was half awake a few time during the night, but the words were in my head, so I had to write them down then and there in my bed, otherwise the I lose them and then they’re gone into oblivion.

  4. Its okay to be tired, maybe you need more sleep not rest with your eyes open. You might just need longer hours of sleep, eating and staying hydrated. Maybe read in between but be in bed and understand how important what you are doing is! It is important to sleep more, resting with my eyes open is just an opportunity to overthink.

    1. I’m struggling Cindy … but I have a thousand of poems in my files to fill in for me while I have this important month for myself and Carole .. it’s the 10th anniversary of Carole’s passing 3rd May and her 75th birthday in a couple of weeks .. lots of emotional times for me to get through 💕🤗🌏

      1. ohhhh I’m so sorry Ivor. No wonder it’s so hard. Sad to be without the love of your life for all of this time and yes, couple that with the war. Hang on tight to Frankie and those wonderful wet kisses.. hugs and love!💖💖💖🤗🤗🤗
