Jingle Jangle for My Easter Bonnet

Another Easter poem from 2 years ago, that I also posted on Throwback Friday, over at Go Dog Go Cafe >> https://godoggocafe.com/2022/04/15/throwback-friday-jingle-jangle-for-my-easter-bonnet-by-ivor-steven/

Jingle Jangle for My Easter Bonnet

My notebook’s running on empty

There’s pages of invisible words

And blue lines are leaping forward

Leaving my empty threads behind

I have empty socks

Lining my holey pockets

And my mouldy purse

Is loosely tied to my Easter bonnet

How am I going to fly?

Without costly wings

I’ve not even a jingle jangle

Of silver change

And my dream’s destination

Now seems out of range

But I don’t need to travel too far

To reach my Easter avatar

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. I know the memories have to be flooding your heart and mind. 💜
I will do something joyful this weekend to honor Beautiful Carole! 💜
She lives on in your heart, mind, and memories. She watches over you. I think those memories become treasures…so, Ivor, you are rich in treasures! 💜

So the thought of you, remaining deeply folded in my brain,
Will not leave me; All things leave me –
    You remain…” by Arthur Symons

    1. Thank you Carolyn .. the tissue boxes are ready.. there’ll be tears of treasured memories, tears of joy, and tears from the heart … but overall I’m feeling bouyant, and my raft is safely floating down river, and not taking in water …🌏🤗😍🐶
