G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

I didn’t see the news but I suppose I’ll have to look 😳
It’s beyond sad Cindy… After a lovely morning walkie with Frankie … then we are confronted by such horrendous news .. the whole can “see” .. but so “he” ☮️🌻🤗🌏
Yes! Right on, Ivor! I agree! I wish we could get your poems read to Mr. Putin.
Reading your powerful poem and listening to this version/vid of Imagine is so heart-touching. I needed a tissue.
Thank you for writing this poem!

Good morning Carolyn .. thank you for your thoughtful comments.. and the music/video suited the essence of my poem superbly … Europe and World can all “see” the suffering that the innocent civilians are going through .. but Putin is “blind” to the obvious 🎶🤗🌏💕🐶🌻
Thank you Claudia … for me poetry is perfect genre to express my inner emotions …
Oh and sorry for missing some of your articles lately … I’m finding my site to be quite overwhelming, especially as I tire quickly now, … this aging process is sneaking up on me …
You spoke, the truths of our times, but, unfortunately, we, the “little people”, are the only ones who can, hear them, as the world’s leaders, are all, deaf, AND, blind.
Yes the possibilities are low … but we must keep trying .. . “You may never know what results of your actions, but if you do nothing, there will be no results” – Mahatma Gandhi
But I keep trying and writing, every little bit helps . “You may never know what results of your actions, but if you do nothing, there will be no results” – Mahatma Gandhi
Thank you Joyce … and yes we must keep trying to persuade him …

Oh, Ivor! I usually watch the news during lunch, but it sounds like today that may be ill-advised. Every day seems more tragic than the last. In my humble opinion, no poem you write could be too emphatic! Well done! ❤

Oh Cindy … in the middle of Europe, in supposedly these modern & well informed times … the whole situation seems archaic and barbaric

Seeing with no love or compassion is a crime… It is very sad that he chooses to go down in infamy since he can’t seem to go down any other way!

You’re right. Atleast we should be trying, it’ll be better rather that just sitting and watching. Faliure is not permanent.

Sometimes, I stay far away from the news. Only bad things it has to give out all the time and in the end, it leaves one sad.
