End Of Day

End Of Day

I was told by a crafty old toad

That my journey was a “No through road”

But he did not say, “The wrong way”

Nor did he infer, “No way”

So, I kept traveling that way

Along my lonely causeway

Towards the end of day

To be farther away

From a world in decay

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. This is so vivid image-wise and so relatable. We’ve all been on one of THOSE roads and felt THAT way. You are not alone, Ivor. 🙂
By the way, I think Sir Frankie can sniff out the right way to go. 😉 😀
So cool that the sign brought a poem to your mind! 🙂

    1. The post was straight yesterday, so it looked odd to be leaning over .. I took a pic’ … and on the “way” during our walkie … words to a poem were finding there “way” into my thoughts 💭 Thank you Carolyn 🐶💕😊🌏
