Who Has The Foggiest? (a Limerick)

I cannot see the morning moon

There’s no sunshine in my breakfast spoon

The heaviest of fogs falls

I cannot hear the birds’ calls

Has our world condemned nature’s tune?

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. What an interesting prompt!
    What a great title!
    What foggy photos!
    What a tears-bringing beautiful video!
To answer your powerful, poignant limerick question…I sure hope not. Without nature humanity dies.
Hope the grey fog lifts soon…nature’s fog and humanity’s “fog”.
    (((HUGS))) ❤️
“…no sunshine in my breakfast spoon…” What a great image, and emotions, Ivor. But, guess what?! I bet you and Sir Frankie bring the sunshine to breakfast every morning! 🙂 🙂

    1. Thank you Carolyn .. Our foggy days are clearing this morning and there is sunshine in my breakfast spoon again 😎 .. and wow isn’t that Natalie Merchant video powerful .. and appropriate for my poem/limerick … we have too start treating Mother Nature with respect and kindness .. otherwise she’ll condemn us to the darkest foggy of times 💕🌏☮️🌻🐶🎶
