NOW … REiMAGINE, Ekphrastic Poetry At The Foundry Studio & Gallery

The Geelong Writers Inc produced this excellent Chapbook from the Ekphrastic workshop that I attended only Three weeks ago, and a big thank you goes to our President, Guenter Sahr, and our hard working Editor, Victoria Spicer …

The Chapbook is available at only $5 via Geelong Writers Inc >> https://www.facebook.com/geelongwritersvic/

And below are my two poems that were published in the Chapbook

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Oh! What a beautiful book of artist’s art and poet’s poetry!
Your contributions are so powerful and ponderful, Ivor!
That is one of my all-time-fave songs…I got to hear Mr. McLean in concert years ago and he sang it…and my tears flowed. πŸ™‚ That night he autographed my American Pie album of his that I’ve had since I was a young-un. πŸ™‚

    1. Oh wow Carolyn … you have a Don McLean’s autographed album .. that’s truly a sensational and iconic treasure … His song ‘Vincent’ is a great example of “Ekphrastic” being used in the artistic way… between art/painting and art/music/lyrics … and thanks for your wonderful comments Carolyn xxx ((Hugs))
