G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Excellent and VERY thought-provoking, Ivor!
HUGS!!! 🙂
PS…I think we all had/ or have some nomad in us. My inner-nomad gets me to bravely do things, and go places, I might not have done, or gone. And I always meet such interesting people!
Haha, I like your inner nomad !!…The poem is for my Open Mic evening, on Thurs 8th Aug, and theme for the night was to write a poem about “Nomad”… so it was an Ivor imagination poem, and I’m really happy that you like it… all goes well for my recital next week…. xx
This is beautiful Ivor – simple but complex, moving but uplifting – fabulous piece of work, I am sure it will be well received at the open mic night :O) x
Good! 🙂
I think it’s a fun thing to reread poems I’ve written eons ago and see how life has changed me, which sometimes causes the poem to get a revision. 🙂
(((HUGS))) 🙂
PATS and RUBS for Sir Frankie! 🙂
Yes indeed Carolyn … I enjoy doing my rereads and revisions… as time passes I different thoughts and I think I am able to structure poems betterer these days 🤗💕✏️📒
Hi Carolyn… 4.00 pm Sunday afternoon, and I’m writing a birthday poem to Kylie, Kerri’s niece, over there in Philadelphia …. I have been resting, and now I’ll try a little session on the computer, and then I’ll do some more exercises … ((Hugs)) woof woof from Frankie 🤗😍🐶
I can relate to this. My inner nomad would love to take to the roads right now but the reality is I can’t. The costs of travelling round Australia are mounting every day. My brother has just returned from a campervan holiday to far north Queensland. He said the roads and caravan parks are clogged with RVs (most with Vic plates). I guess they’re all the people who fled last year during the lockdowns. The towns they visited were full of tourists and the cost of fuel was exorbitant.
Good luck with the op mic night – it sounds like fun.
Wonderfully penned, Ivor!! 😉

A nomad can find things that others don’t look for.
In particular, great treasures are out there, if you only look.
