Perceptions

Urban Glare (Perceptions, page 43)

Down into the valley

I wander

Away from urban glare

Beyond reach

Of those who do not care

About nature’s faded flare

Along a cool creek

I wander

Away from urban air

Beyond sight

Of those arrogant stares

Who do not see nature’s plight

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. I agree Ingrid.. this greedily commercialised materialistic world don’t even realise how filthy their own front yard is, let alone walking out into the back yard πŸ“˜πŸŒ

    1. Thank you Kate… something different for me, a hardcover glossy photo/word book… a reasonably expensive project… it’ll be interesting to see how my sales go … looks like I might have to sell the books for $35 – 40 each … but I thought I might as well have go .. I’ll be 72 next year so why not give it a crack πŸ€—πŸ“˜πŸŒ
