A poem I wrote in February 2019


I’m Home

I’m not quite on song
Home’s where I belong
Humming ballad songs
I’m going out, right or wrong

I’ve made up my mind
Even though life’s unkind
We only live once
And this is my dance

Dreams are living on
Life shouldn’t be postponed
Realities push and thrive
My future is still alive

She’ll gently take my hand
And show me the distant lands

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    “My father left me with a list of instructions before he passed: ‘Put me in a pine box next to my mother and father. Have a small memorial for close friends and family in Los Angeles…and if you want a public event do it in Montreal,’” said singer-songwriter Adam Cohen “I see this concert as a fulfillment of my duties to my father that we gather in Montreal to ring the bells that still can ring.”

    1. I’m home and back on my exercises and walking program. Going to Physio today. I’ve only 10 weeks to go till New York. I won’t be quite fit enough, but I’ve made up my mind I’m going anyhow. 😁😁 My doctors at this stage have no positive answers for me and they’re happy for me to go. ❤️🗽🗽🛫Xxx

  15. hello. you don’t know me. my name is Mark Gaszman (the name may or may not mean anything to you) and in the last hour or so i’ve become quite the fan of yours 🙂 how good are you? rool good, that’s how good! i stumbled across you cos i was friends with Greg a tbousand years ago and am keen to know how he’s keeping. i understand if you’re not inclined to respond, but if you could at least let him know that i’ve asked after him, that’d be nice. if you want to verify that i’m not a russian who’s after your credit card details, you’ll see (very old) photos of Greg on my facebook profile.
