Bigger is Better, Art Exhibition

On Friday evening I had the pleasure of being invited to the opening night of the ‘Group Art Exhibition’ at the “Space Gallery/Workshop”. For those in the Geelong Area, I thoroughly recommend you try and attend this outstanding display by our local artists. The Exhibition is open until February 25th.
Below: I have attached several paintings/Artworks from my Catalogue, and I was fortunate enough to have some of the Artists sign my catalogue … they were all very charming and keen to chat about their exhibits, and a special thank you to my friend Jo Curtain, who invited me to this wonderful event.

Jo Curtain with Emily Rastas, who is standing at the entrance to her enchanting ‘Installation’

L – Keren Sis Gardner: an intriguingly beautiful painting “Poetry 2”
C – Jo Curtain: an absorbing mixed media piece, “There is Life in Decay”
R – Emily Rastas: a fascinating sensory installation, “Pelispace”

L _ Kylie Findlay: an engrossing ‘mixed media on fabric’, “Edge of Reason”
R – Ian Duncan: a breathtaking painting, ‘oil on canvas’, “Hut Gully Reflections”

L – Terri Pollock: the challenging “Determination”, acrylic on canvas
R – Nic Everist: The compelling “See Beyond What is Right in Front of Us”, acrylic on canvas.

L – Janicke Johansen: Topical, it’s the year of Rabbit “Buster (bunny)”, recycled objects, paper mache
R – Tony Trezize: a mesmerizing sculpture “Flow”, redgum, jarrah & perspex

Here I have only presented a small portion of the truly sensational Exhibition, and as an added bonus, I was allowed to bring ‘Frankie’ into the show with me, and appropriately he behaved himself perfectly.

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. I think Geelong is very much into the arts … there are many small Galleries around Geelong, and then in the CBD we have a wonderful Arts Centre … I do a huge YouTube library Kate, but I have not started up my own channel yet …
