At Weekly Prompts, the Weekend Challenge is the word: Treasure. Please go over and visit their fabulous site by clicking on >> Here . Below, my poem “A Sapphire Blue Canopy”, is about the ‘treasure’ of our morning sky.

A Sapphire Blue Canopy
Above the shimmering horizon
Daylightβs glow resolutely grows
Like a rising ocean tide
Strutting over hot sand
The sunrise swaggers
Up through the clouds
Vividly vapourizing
Their hypnotic silver linings
And progressively exposes the skyβs
Sapphire blue canopy

A lovely poem to go with your excellent photographs. I tend to reject my pictures with those little green reflection spots, but this one really enhances the image

Thank you Derrick … and those little green can be annoying sometimes, but in this case, the sun sun spots were in my eyes too ..

Never realized the sunrise could swagger, but now I can do. Great unexpected verb.

The poem is beautiful, well the word “beautiful” feels shallow to appreciate the intensity of beauty that you have captured in it. Well done π
