G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

thanks Ivor; tbh I had a bit of trouble to find your haiku among all the ad stuff…(when I looked at the page the way it was shared) – now I have got it – I like the scene you set but I miss the haiku – you have written a list of observations of your dog, lovely but not yet a haiku…? Thanks for contributing and have a good day.
thanks Ivor; I am no expert, I am sure you know more about literary forms than I do; all I am is a sucker for ‘ aha’ , i.e.catch the moment in the moment.. the juxtaposition…
I don’t know your experience either – for me it sound more like a haiku like this
prances back
trots away –
my dog exploring his patch
we all have our favorite spots )

Yes Barbara, not truly a Haiku as such, all I did was follow the syllable count … maybe it’s more of Senryu …

Not the traditional syllable count of 5x7x5, which adhere to … but there many modern form of Haiku
