Dragonfly, Nature’s Guardian Eye

Featured Images: I am thrilled to say that the attached photos are mine, and they are my first-ever successful photographs of Dragonflies …

Dragonfly, Nature’s Guardian Eye

Long before homo sapiens overachievers

You were the swamp’s incorruptible believer

Overseer of the planet’s rivers and valleys

The weary world’s ardent ally

Long before the floundering Ark

You were our wisest Monarch

Overseer of the forest’s unpolluted sky

Nature’s sprightly guardian eye

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Absolutely grand and wonderful, Ivor! Your photos! 🙂 It must be so difficult to capture them in flight! I love watching dragonflies! Their glossy iridescent…delicate, yet strong…wings fascinate me! 🙂
    Great poem to honor them!
    Great song!
    (((HUGS))) ❤️ 🙂
PS… “May you touch dragonflies and stars, dance with the fairies, and talk to the moon.”
