G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Is this a metaphor for God? That is what I took from it, just wondering.
Oh … no way … I have no church, no religion, ..
“I don’t own much
I don’t owe much
I share what I have
I have hope and love
I see the universe in a blade grass”
We can learn a lot from ants!
❤️🐜🐜🐜❤️
What a wonderful poem, Ivor! What an honor it is for us to watch nature “from above”. 🙂
Makes me think of an old old old song… 🙂
“Next time you’re found, with your chin on the ground
There a lot to be learned, so look around…
Just what makes that little old ant Think he’ll move that rubber tree plant Anyone knows an ant, can’t Move a rubber tree plant…
But he’s got high hopes, he’s got high hopes He’s got high apple pie, in the sky hopes
So any time you’re gettin’ low ‘Stead of lettin’ go Just remember that ant…Oops, there goes another rubber tree plant!” 🙂

Thank you for your lovely rendition Carolyn … and as you know, I believe nature is a wonderful teacher and us human beans are the slowest of learners 🤗🌏📕💕😉
yes I often think of Patrick White’s minute description of ant life … when that universe unites we can achieve anything! When divided we it’s more like drowning …
Wow, Ivor! What amazing perspectives about a hidden world! Our fascination with ants goes back for millennia, but I have never heard it expressed more delightfully! ❤

I love the wonderful senses this poem conjures up and the way it puts me in the place of witnessing this interaction between worlds unfold! ❤

Wow, you’ve said a lot with few words and pictures! 🙂
And the relativity of size is pretty mind blowing, isn’t it?
Hope you’re well these days 💚
