Her Last Rainbow (a Haiku)

This months poetry assignment at Coffee House Writers is to read the traditional Japanese writer, Matsuo Basho’s 10 top Haiku, and then try to write a Traditional style Haiku. I think my Haiku here might get me a ‘pass’ for the assignment …

Her Last Rainbow (a Haiku)

Etched upon greyness

Behind fluffy nimbus clouds

Her last rainbow glowed

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Thank you Grace … my Carole adored rainbows and whenever we spotted one out through the lounge room window I would quickly wheel her outside so she could enjoy nature’s grand display 🌈🤗💕

    1. Thank you dear Carolyn … every time I see a rainbow I think of Carole … she adored nature’s grand displays … and the live version of Lola’s is quite emotional ..🌈😍🤗🌏🐶
