Cracks and Holes

There are cracks in the internet

Is there a hole in the alphabet?

There are cracks in the ground

Is there a hole in the Pound?

There are cracks in my skin

Is there a hole in the garbage bin?

There are cracks in the skyline

Is there a hole in my shrine?

There is a crack in my Mind

Is the world a hole in decline?

St Patrick’s Day at Murphy’s Pub

The cheery crowd were having a good old-fashioned Irish Gathering, enjoying the traditional Irish Guinness and the jovial Irish Music, by two fabulous bands (while I was there) … “Madigans Wake” and “The Poachers”, Videos Attached Below

The two Irish Music Bands, “Madigan’s Wake” and “The Poachers”

Me with a Guinness and smile and some of the happy patrons

Late afternoon and it was crowded … we had a good spot behind the sound mixer.

An Irish Pub (a Haiku)

What more would I need

Guinness and Irish music

On St Patrick’s Day

Raspberry Cheesecake

Today the Wednesday Challenge on Weekly Prompts is: Neighbours. Please go and visit their fabulous site by clicking >> Here
One of my nearby ‘Neighbours’ happens to be the “Moorabool Valley Chocolate Cafe”

Our table and my “treats” … Frankie getting his back patted.

Frankie waiting for his “treats” and waiting for me to finish this poem

Raspberry Cheesecake

The afternoon is warm and sunny

I say to Frankie

“We should go for a stroll”

He immediately runs to his lead

And eagerly shakes his head

Ok, we will go to the

Moorabool Valley Chocolate Cafe**

Excitedly, he scratches at the front door

He knows where we are heading

A special country-style venue

Close to home

Near the outskirts of town

Situated inside a horse agistment property

We settle for a table on the verandah

Frankie loves the attention he receives

I love the homemade cakes

My self-indulgent treats

Were a scrumptious raspberry cheesecake

And a delicious cappuccino

Throwback Friday, The Time-Machine’s Secret Code, by Ivor Steven

Copied from my article on “Go Dog Go Cafe” today >>
http://godoggocafe.com/2023/02/24/the-time-machines-secret-code/

A Poem From Early March 2019:
Well here l am, back in hospital again and feeling anxious about whether I am going to be fit enough to fly to NewYork and Philadelpha in just seven weeks time.

The Time-Machine’s Secret Code (Revised)

I’m no stranger to this land

The warm hourglass sand

Is drifting past my hand

I’m no stranger to this room

Time has me back here too soon

I’ve yet to go on my trip to the moon

I’m no stranger to this road

Time has me carrying destiny’s load

I’m here after my latest episode

I wait for a new download

From the time-machine’s secret code

I’m no stranger to this hospital door

Again, I’m grounded in ward four

But I will beat this unheralded war

And the nurses will say hello, and goodbye Ivor

My photo of, “Richard the Lizard, a wise and withered Wizard”

Schoolyards and Lizards

Enter Richard the lizard

A wise and withered wizard

Who stealthily slithered and delivered

His magic beyond pandemics and blizzards

Recreating a safe haven

An unsmeared and inured schoolyard

To be shared by the children

Without the National Guard

Embedded

No more highs and lows

Nor ups and downs

The rollercoaster wheels

Have sadly departed

From their weary axles

And the embedded tracks

Now rest underneath

Dried leaves and fallen branches

The Untouchable and Invisible World

The uncontrollable Digital World

Is stuck in an unstoppable whirl

Untouchable like a hot crazy lava flow

And madder than a mist and snow in the Congo

We cannot physically experience the wireless connection

Our world’s computer reliance is a mental autoinfection

Desperately requiring a House of Correction

Before we crash into the horizon’s unmanned intersection

Cool Change

There is a shady gray sky

Sailing above the Cafe

And a sympathetic breeze

Dances across the tabletops

As the liberating cool change diffuses

The morning’s explosive heatwave

A Cup of Coffee on The House

A Cup of Coffee on The House

Fantasy.

A powerful Pacific Albatross

Gracefully landed on fairy-moss

That covered my welcoming pathway

And graciously handed me a sacred Mandala

Reality.

The postman delivered a special parcel today

A belated Christmas gift from America

A wonderful hand-painted coffee mug

And this afternoon I enjoyed

“A Cup of Coffee on The House”

Thanks to my friends at Coffee House Writers
