Peace And Serenity

The featured image above, is a photo taken by Canadian uncle(Dick), who was from, High River, Alberta. and the photograph is of Maligne Lake, a lake in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. The lake is famed for the colour of its azure water, the surrounding peaks.

Peace and Serenity

There’s an old biplane sign-writing on a cloud

A red blue and white poster, big and loud

Capitol Hill has coldly declared, “Chaos”, in the sky

Copied by the media’s dirty claws gone awry

Our messy world’s living on unclean ground

Lock-down’s isolation the silent sound

Stay calm and relaxed behind our covering masks

And lets inhale peace and serenity as our objective task

Sigur Rós – Varúð

 Warning (English Translation)

Three laid out
And fields of everything melted
Out all, all out.
And let’s light the bonfire-candles
And the winds from far away.
As ?who/might be something else? became brick walls
All, everywhere
And enough bones are cold
Kills everything
Warning
Warning
Outside, part of the icecold
Let’s light a bonfire, when it’s evening
And words wait bluecold
Let’s build again a silver shelter
And winds from underneath
As ?who? became brick walls
All, everywhere
There laid a thousand falls
And draws everything
Warning
Warning
Warning

Remembering How To Do Backstroke

The day we are born

There, life’s journey begins

And every new experience creates a memory

As time goes rolling by

Our winding road gravitates

Towards that spiralling stairway

Where the dams of stored nostalgia cry

Cascading tears down the yellow brick steps

And abruptly we’re left afloat on soulful floods

Then cleverly, we learn the trick to growing older

Remembering, to swim backstroke did let us breathe easier

When leisurely crossing an old swollen river

Pockets Full of Stars

Pocket Full Of Stars

I’ve been sleeping with memories

Here in my brother’s house

A home, away from home

I’m quietly laying here

In a warm cosy bed

Happily wiping away stars

From my night-time eyes

And up on the bedroom wall

There’s a picture of tranquillity

A painting familiar to me

Created by the hands of an angel

Pastel sky and a calm blue sea

Precisely how she viewed the world

A place of peace and serenity

I’m smiling under these loving tears

Knowing she’s within me every year.

Clouds Are Down

Coldness hovers in foggy grey air

The sun’s dirty eye-wear

Icy winter ground

A crunchy grass sound

Blue skies await, clouds are down

There’s hope above, in her golden crown

Hafsol (Sun of the sea), Rigur Ros, lyrics in English.

Sun of the sea

Behind the clouds the sun wakes up from sleep
The cold drop of the rain is cooling down
It play with the hot flames of the fire
It creates a rainbow

Behind a cloudburst,

the sun awakens from hibernation

Cools off with the cold drops of rain

Plays with the hot flames of fire

Creates a rainbow talking on the arm,

talking on Behind a cloudburst,

the sun awakens from hibernation

Cools off with the cold drops of rain

Playing with my name I would like to look for

Creates a rainbow

Balance

This morning, like most of my starts to a new day, I open up my WordPress reader, and proceed to read Derrick Knights wonderful WP site    [https://derrickjknight.com/2020/07/14/keeping-its-balance/ ]     … This morning the above enchanting photo of his, immediately captured my imagination (of how the young foal was balancing upon the ground)… and inspired my thoughts to write this poem….   A big thank you to Derrick and his fabulous photographic site, and they continue to be my enjoyable breakfast read, and a perfect way to start my day

Balance

There is a distant shore

Between why and when

Life is a seesaw

Between hero’s and heroine’s

There is a balance

Between ups and downs

Life is a challenge

Between smiles and frowns

There is common ground

Between storms and calmness

Life is a humming sound

Between love and blindness

Ocean Spirit

Dawn sunshine awakens my weary bones

And I hear the early birds are singing

About my day’s visions of flying towards home

Then I remember the tune and start humming

As the windless sky beckons my ocean spirit

It’s time to travel beyond these noisy urban alarms

Sit upon cool sand, and listen to the waves lyrics

Rhythmically roll into my waiting arms

A Brick Wall Comes Alive

Over the last two weeks I’ve had the pleasure of observing a creative piece  of street-artwork evolving on a corner shop wall, at nearby the ‘Box Office Cafe’, where I like to enjoy a coffee and cake…  The wonderful painting, inspired me to write this little poem.

A Brick Wall Comes Alive

There, before my smiling eyes

An old brick wall comes alive

A colourful display, growing and flowing

There’s flowers and faces glowing

Within artistic creations of finesse

Upon every brush-strokes progress

The facade’s sharing her party dress

And she’s dancing in the streets to impress

Oh..  At Carolyn’s request, here’s pic’s of my coffee & cakes….

Wizard, (a Haiku)

Back in 1972, I was a great fan of the band, ‘Uriah Heep’, and I’d play the song “Wizard” on my record player, every chance I had. The music was magical, and the lyrics superbly depicted the feelings within my heart …. and my visions of a more peaceful and harmonious world, might soon be achieved……. That was nearly 50 years ago, and I vividly remember the song, but I’m afraid the world has forgotten the “Lyrics”

Wizard  (a Haiku)

Mysterious dreams

Magicians run amok

Wizards remember

The Wizard. Lyrics by Uriah Heep

He was the wizard of a thousand kings
And I chanced to meet him one night wandering
He told me tales and he drank my wine
Me and my magic man kind of feeling fine

He had a cloak of gold
And eyes of fire
And as he spoke I felt a deep desire
To free the world of its fear and pain
And help the people to feel free again

Why don’t we listen to the voices in our hearts
‘Cause then I know we’d find we’re not so far apart
Everybody’s got to be happy
Everyone should sing
For we know the joy of life
The peace that love can bring

So spoke the wizard in his mountain home
The vision of his wisdom means we’ll never be alone
And I will dream of my magic night
And the million silver stars that guide me with their light

Slippery Stepping Stones

Dear readers, as you know I like to put a music/video with my posts, that in some way might tend to suit the words I’ve written…. Today I two great pieces to chose from, both songs are by “Puscifer”, and then I decided to add both of the music/videos….. and along with my poem, I hope you enjoy my articles entire presentation today….

Slippery Stepping Stones

Dreams of longer and older paths

Are fading behind invincible eyes

I’ve seen that yellow-brick road to there

Just pass a cloud covered sky somewhere

On the other side of nowhere

Now I’m on my way to there

And I’m happy for everyone to share

My winding road to everywhere

I’ve tripped over many hidden yellow bricks

And the red cobblestone tracks are a real trick

But to gingerly cross life’s riverbed of slimy stepping stones

Somehow enabled my soul, to travel through slippery time zones
